Pretty interesting on what AD says about their license methodology.

One thing that the publishers dont get is if they all do this monthly thing its going to seriously reduce the user base, if I had to rent all my software it would be over $700cdn per month and that is ludicrous to say the least. Its bad enough that my Adobe software ranges between $60cdn to $80cdn per month depending on the current exchange rate which in its self is seriously annoying.

If it does away with the pirated software, we can probably raise our rates.

I fear it might do just the opposite...

I heard someone say that Adobe's subscription basically did away with Photoshop piracy.

Yes, but...photoshop is a flagship software for Adobe, like Autocad for Autodesk, but it costs $10 usd or so per month. If Max and Maya cost that much for single small scale license, no problem But its not. Not to say that Maya and Max are not their flagship software...

Imho it will be the opposite - if client will find out you have to pay less for the software, they will say we will pay you less too.

Yeah, I don't know if it'll be the opposite, but I'm sure it's not as simple as that...
