3dsmax container + vray

Hello,

i'm wondering if the "container" workflow in 3dsmax works well, and if there are any issues with vray (DR rendering OK?).

I usually work with groups, but sometimes when i have to update a certain group(add objects etc) and this one is repeated several times in multiple files...it's a bit of a hassle to update

The 'container' workflow has it's limits, when compared to Xref scene / Xref objects workflow. I would say some advantages on Xref, as well as some inconvenient. But for the relation with Vray, we never had issues.

Containers does not seem to be this popular however.

Containers are a massive PITA - overly complicated , ALWAYS breaking locking you out, can't edit materials on imported containers, ALWAYS breaking, can't open them, can't close them, can't delete them. A great idea badly implemented and not updated or refined by AD. Think state-sets or the new layer manager!!
