  • upgrading to 2016, should we go for SP1 or SP2?

    Hey guys,

We are currently upgrading our pipeline to max 2016
I've heard that SP1 fixed a lot of bugs from the initial release but that SP2 breaks back a lot of things

What should we go for and what's the most stable for you, SP1 or SP2?

    Cheers

Any reason why you do not consider SP3 ?

Absolutely not, I was not aware there was a SP3

      Are you recommending it?

        Yep, works fine for me.
Of course there are always some annoying things here and there, but nothing that compromises my workflow.

Are you talking MAX 2016 or 2017? I got excited about a SP3 for 2017 since they left some major bugs unfixed in SP2.

We never upgrade to the latest release to avoid dealing with things like you did during SP1 and SP2

if you are going to use 2016, you must install SP3. there is a bug when grouping mirrored objects that has been addressed with that service pack

Nice, thanks a lot, we rolled out 2016 today and we went with SP3, great to know that was the good decision to make
