  • Anyone recommend a render farm?

We have only used rebus so far, seems ok but quite pricey and upload/download is really slow.
We have 8000 frames to render, with latest Vray and denoiser.

Has anyone used any recently they would recommend?

    Thanks

Ranch. And you just missed their discount. Up until yesterday they had 50% discount :- )
But make sure on animation that they don't clamp your images. On stills, with the multiband option, the images are clamped at 1 and you loose your background, even though the alpha is there

With multiband stills they have seperate software stitching the bits together. Seems there's some limitations with that. However, with animation, there's no stitching so you shouldnt get any issues

I am also a big fan of Ranch Computing. But don't tell too many people about it. I don't want their prices to go up and I don't want them to get super busy when I need them.

Ranch let me know that they fixed the clamping issue when you use their multiband feature. Can somebody test and confirm?

I loved Ranch, though I went back to Rebus because Wall & Tiles wasn't supported and they answered me it was not going to be implemented anytime soon... It was suppoorted by Rebus but did need an update. I asked them and it was done in an hour... I was speechless.

But Ranch support is also extremely good & fast. The only things that bothers me with them is their chest system. If it's empty, it just kills your render and the money is spent. That is a bit rough. Rebus at least finishes the render and ask you to pay to download it.

But maybe all that has changed. I hope so because Ranch deserves attention.

I've heard good things about Ranch, I'll have to check them out.

Rebus has always been my RF of choice, but recent last experience has left me reluctant to spend like I used to.
