KRPano, Wordpress, GearVR, 6x1 Stereo?

Hi all

As far as I understand, KRpano doesn't support 6X1 stereo, and you need to have the usual equirectangular 2:1 images. With the documentation being not excactly stellar, could somebody give me a quick overview?

I'm building a single pano by dropping my 2:1 mono onto the MAKE PANO (MULTIRES) droplet. From here, all I need to do is to copy all the files it creates and ftp it up to my server. From here in Wordpress I just add a normal link to the html file?

What if I have a stereo 6X1 image? How do I pipe that through KRPano and onto my site?

I've been waiting until a final version of 1.19, when it will hopefully becomes easier last time i tried with the VR it didn't have a batch file for it. I haven't looked at the latest pre-release version of it, so not sure if this have improved yet.

but for wordpress, you can use a plugin called panopress. copy the krpano files onto your web server and link to the html file that krpano outputs.

I'm also keen to hear on this new workflow though.

You need to split the cube map first (into 6 faces)

You can then create the vtour from this. You can drag the 6 faces onto the "make vtour" bat file, as long as they are named appropriately (l,r,u,d,f,b)

I also wrote a little bat file which is somewhere on the forum that automagically splits the cube map, flips the faces, and then stitches into a spherical pano. It needs some tweaking because I know nothing about programming, so its very basic.
It used KRpanos "maketiles" command, which also has some options for image compression/quality etc which I havent included.
Someone more clever than me, can probably improve it.

How to handle stereo then in KRPano?

You need to edit the XML once its been generated.
You need to drag the split up left and right eye onto the bat. This will create a tour with 2 panos (left eye and right eye)
Then in the created XML, you need to delete one of the pano scenes, and edit the remaining one to display stereo. There is a specific line you need to add, sorry I cant find the last one I did, but it is listed here

SBrusse on the forum was finalizing something for KRPano to automate this. Just take a look at the xmls of some of the KRPano's available, that's how I did it.
