  • GhostTown Plugin

    Hi,
I'm mainly searching for a good way to quickly generate streets (and houses maybe).
I've railclone which is great, but it dosn't recognizes intersecting splines, so it isn't soo helpfull for creating streets.
GhostTown seems to be gread at building cities and road networks.

    Anyone used this yet?

Or can anyone recommend another plugin/good tutorials?

Ghosttown is incredible - the newest version of it is way more advanced than the website makes out. all discussion & updates happen on the forums. it's up to v1.3 and is still pretty active.

Just to do streets it's super easy, probably the best tool for you. adding parametric buildings gets incredibly complex, very quickly. not quite got a handle on it myself. for road layouts it's great though! extracting splines and combining with forest and railclone is the way to go.

I'm very glad to hear a positive answer because I've found nothing similar.
I've made road networks in 3ds max before and it was a world of pain.
      Thanks!

How can you register on the forums. I'm asked a registration code, but there is no indication on how or where to get that ?!?

You only get it when you purchased.
Feels a bit like its top secret.
The last youtube video is from version 0.8 and two jears old

He don't entirely supports max 2016/2017. The road tool will only work with earlier versions.
Since I still have them this dosn't bother me that much.
Just to warn people who don't have those versions.

He's not very good at self promotion...

mitviz, do you mean 0.95 from before the complete re-write? I've found 1.3 a little clunky but havent had many major issues. then again I barely use it, only made roads with it and then extracted splines to do everything else in railclone.

i mean the version in the videos , the one that has this ui, i used it a few months ago but i dont have it installed to tell you the correct version, when you purchase it you will get access to more plugins and scripts and videos if i remember carefully but you wont be wrong to buy it, if you plant to make cities etc, buy it, its totally worth the 90 euros or so i think

that's like 5 full interface changes ago... I dont think it's even possible to download an official build with that interface anymore.
                  We already own it.

Looks like he don't want to be sucessfull.
