  • Mobile Stereo VR Tour question (KRPano)

    Hi all

Without looking at the xml files, or associated folders etc, how do I know I'm actually viewing an ACTUAL stereo image and not just a left right of a mono image?
    Kind Regards,
    Morne

    Exactly why I don't like pre-rendered VR.

Without positional head tracking in a 3d space - you'll need some visual cues to accentuate the depth effect. Typically putting some objects within arms length, along with the mid/far scene helps to really see/feel the depth.

If you can compare the images in photoshop - laying the left/right over each other and using Difference - you should see some slight shifts between views to signal that they are stereo

If you're looking just to test that the vr tour is working properly, one thing I do is overlay a colour or something garish on top of the the panos from one eye - using the faces created by krpano in the folders.
Then its really obvious if its displaying stereo properly or just duplicating one eye
