Download Speeds

I have 60MB downloads speeds, however, some of these sites are so slow, I dread using them. Not only are the sites slow, when I do purchase, the downloads are awful. I am downloading an Evermotion library, an exterior one, it is 4 hours later and still downloading. Does anyone else experience this? 4GB is a lot, but 4 hours!

You're forgetting it was cyber Monday, everybody's site's were overloaded. There's only so much traffic they can handle during "normal times". This weekend saw much higher traffic than usual. Not just Evermotion...

That stinks... what really stinks if paying for 60MB and getting 1.5!

What if you run a speed test? You may just be connecting to a slow site. So even if you had download speeds approaching plaid, you'll still get slow speeds.

If you are not getting anywhere close to what you paid for with the speed tests, you may want to check off peak hours. Sometimes you are bundled in with your entire neighborhood so you only get your max download speed at 3am in the morning. You can also see if the bottleneck is with your own modem/router. I had a 5 year old router that I thought was still doing well, until I realized it wasn't really up to code to deal with the faster internet I had purchased.

The funny thing is my speed test always shows fast speeds. Speed test is showing 70MB down.

the particular server you are downloading from could have a crappy connection, which can slow things down drastically on your end...

That's what I think. The XYZ people site is so slow to load, I stopped using it. Them, and several others sites, download speeds are crazy slow.
