  • Poly object not rendering when linked to a point helper

    I've converted a scene from Maya to max using FBX. I need to link a few poly objects to a point helper which in turn is linked to some converted bones. For some reason the linked object is not rendering when linked. It does however when it is not linked. Very strange behaviour. Any idea what I can do to fix this.

    The point helper's layer maybe set to not render?

    Does it work if you recreate a simple scene from scratch?

      I added the point helper myself after the scene had been imported. It's only when I link the helper to the merged bones that the rendering doesn't work for the objects attached to the helper.

      I did however managed to resolve the issue. There was one bone which was the main control bone for everything that I deleted and replaced with another helper. This has corrected the issue. Never had this issue before.

        There's an "inherit visibility" option in the object properties dialog. When activated, all children get the same visibility. So maybe that helper had this activated and its visibility set to 0?
