Does anyone know of software or a script that can load potentially hundreds of bitmaps into vray materials with custom attributes? Or can point me to a developer who could help me with this?
Here's the script if you want to give it a try. AutoMATic.zip
I've just checked and it still seems to work
1. Create an empty material library in your matlibs folder.
2. Run the script.
3. Select a delegate material.
4. Select a bitmap image - edit the field manually and use wildcards if you want to use multiple maps. For example Carpet* will create a material for every image beginning with Carpet in the chosen folder.
5. Use the 'Select Bitmap Image' dropdown to choose which bitmap in the delegate material is going to be replaced.
6. Use the 'Material Library button to select the empty library.
7. Click 'Add new materials to library'.
