I tried everything. Sphere mapping kind of works, but the bottom shingles were 4X larger than the top. I ended up, chopping it up, and using mapscaler

I got it to work by slicing it in half and UVW map it that way.

Wonder if it could have been done with RailClone. It would have given you a library asset that you could apply with a few clicks on future projects.

Care to share more about this? I've only been applying shingles in flat walls/roofs with RailClone.

Bobby, the rendering looks really great!

I was doing my roofs with Railclone, however, all my clients complained about the roof edges. I started tis roof off in RailClone, but ended up going with displacement.

Thanks Cheerioboy. I do these houses, for a flat rate, which I guess gives him the liberty in many changes along the way. Yesterday, I had to go back three weeks, to this image, because all the changes he made mucked it up. It's like, "change this and this, oh yeah and this". ending up, "I guess I like the earlier one better ". I expected it, since he will not get charged extra; I did it thinking the houses will look good on my portfoilio.

Yeah I've come to expect this sort of experience with designing through renderings - but that's why I went in-house. Now I spend more time on renderings to assist in design than marketing renderings.
