  • Align Plan to World XY in MAX

I have a project that does an odd angle "L" in plan. Is there a way to align something that is off angle to the world XY axis in max other than figuring out the angle with the protractor helper?

miauu's Script Pack had an align plugin just for this as well as design toolbox that has tools just the same as in cad to do perfect alignment of objects like plans

If I want to align section B to the viewport grid (world xy), what I end up doing is figuring out the angle offset with the protractor tool in Max and then rotate accordingly. I was just wondering if there was another way of doing this inside max.... Thanks Shawn, I'll check that out.

3pt Align script. Other programs (Rhino, Autocad, Sketchup, ..) do their aligning like this. You can find it here. http://www.scriptspot.com/3ds-max/scripts/3-point-align

I always found it odd that Max didn't have such a thing.
