  • totally corrupted geometry all of the sudden ....

Ok I gesss Autodesk decided to punish me for all my badmouthing him regarding licensing and no new features with 2018. Did anyone experienced totally corrupted geometry before in 2017 (I heaven't)?

All was ok when saving but when I opened the file (auto backups etc. all have totally corrupted geo. On the file preview all is looking good but when opened it's a mess.) Is there any help?

I was working with modifier stack but turning things off or deleting doesn't help

Happened to me a while ago with 2015 I think. I needed to use a model from an older project and when I opened the file the model was completely messed up. Edges missing, verts weirdly welded etc. Even the prior versions were corrupted as well.
I tried merging it into a new file etc. but no change. Had to fix it up by hand. A friend of mine said that it sometimes happens if you have a lot of edit polys stacked. (which I had in my case)
Didn't encounter the problem a second time again though.
      Cheers,
      Oliver

I don't have anything logged about this in the tracker, but if you want to send me a link to the file I can try to look into this for you. Alfred.DeFlaminis@autodesk.com

If there is a defect I want to log it and get it fixed... thanks for the info.

EDIT: Awesome model and render Mitviz!

          Best,
          AJ

I solved it AJ... 3dsmax shuffled the modificators by itself when saving (because as you can see when file saved file image preview all was okay).
