Lol this Thread is just wonderful. They try to match the Vray rendering with C4D for a few weeks without success. Furthermore the Vray Image was created by a guy that used Vray the very first time. Poor Cinema guys. Damn i'm so lucky to be here. Very good read ppl. Thanks mildse7en for the tip!
damn I read through that whole thread and it ended with this comment:
"If my wife can fake it then by golly so can I!"
After laughing my arse off at how well the comment summed it all up I felt good again about our decision to go with vray :_)
the example vray render in there was pretty damned good for a first effort and I was interested that he just used direct computation for second bounces. How many people do that rather than using photons? Ive been failing badly trying to master photons!
I've been using photons for interiors and had pretty good results with them.....but one thing I had a hard time with was when I increase the bounces of rays in the photons options it doesn't seem to change much of the lighting as far as increase the amount of energy bounced around......don't know what I was doing wrong...but over all I've been very pleased with the results and speed I'm getting...especially on interiors

I used direct computation for secondary bounce until I realized in a test once that photons made a 30 minute render at 320x240 a 16 minute render.

I wouldn't laugh so soon. Cinema probably has the fastest GI renderer around if you know how to optimize your settings, and a new color mapping plugin that's currently in development is already producing some damn beautiful Vray style interior renders, even though its not even finished yet. And btw, what's up with Max no being able to handle high-poly models that Cinema handles with ease?
