Hi to all,
I would like to know the way in wich you determine how much are you going to charge for a job like a single rendered image or a minute of video, for example, we at the office have developed a system that includes some points to be taken in consideration:
Modelling
Texturing
Illumination
Ambientation
and Rendering
in the case of an animation we add two more concepts:
Animation of the cameras
and Setup of the scene for the video secuence
Each point has certain price and we can charge for them independently, in this way we forecast how much time are we going to spend on each area, and in the case that the client gives us some kind of advance in the job, lets say the complete model, we can make the corresponding discount.
It would be great to have your opinion, observations and tips, and in the case of the mexican guys, I would be glad if you can tell me how much do you actualy charge and why, hope that this is not a prob, I'm just trying to figure if we are charging what is right in this geographical context, neverthless if you are not from mexico and wish to share it will be helpful too.
