  • Max 2018 -- does it require recompiled plugins?

I haven't switched to Max 2018. For those of you that have -- does it require recompiled plugins -- or do Max 2017 versions work with it?

    Hello,

Yes Max 2018 requires new plugins.

    Best regards,

Hi, any idea when Vray 3.6 for 3ds Max 2018 will be available? I just did a refresh of my workstation with the new 3ds Max 2018 update and have realised I cannot use Vray yet. Thanks.

What David said - if you email us at support@chaosgroup.com we can get you a build to use until the official release.

            Best regards,

Right, thanks Vlado. I'm waiting for max 2018 sp1. I was actually just asking because Grant at RPManager thought recompiles weren't needed since it's usually only every other year. But I think we needed recompiles for 2017? -- so AD messed with their tick-tock schedule I guess.

It's true that it's usually every other year. Basically any time they need to break the SDK for whatever reason it requires recompiled plugins.
