  • Kitchen Tile

This kind of stuff drives my crazy. A very common tile, but I can't find it anywhere. I spend so much time looking for textures.

I'd stop looking and just make it using BerconTile and MultiTexture (from CG-source.com). Make a dozen or so single tile images from the bitmap above (or something similar) and you're good to go.

Yeah, I suppose. You would think that there would be a good library of these common tiles.

Substance Designer might be helpful also.

You should really ignore the shape of the tiles and focus on the texture. This is just some white marble. Even with only one seamless texture you should be able to achieve enough variation by randomizing rotaion, scale and translation. To create the tiles themselves you have plenty of options to do it in 2D (Bercon Tile, Walls & Tiles, ...) or 3D (Floor Generator 2, Railclone, ...)

For stuff like that Ive just used Floor generator and multi texture, and like Mekene pointed out you can also use a single large marble map and use the crop function in the ME to gain enough variation as well.

White marble map, photoshop guides, exports tiles. Floor generator, add maps. Then shader adjustments. Easy. You will never find the exact texture with such tiling. Takes less time to do it than searching for it.

Substance designer....I'm learning it on the fly, so far one of the best tools for the price.

I'll have to look into it.

I ended up using Multitexture, which made easy work of it. I'll post some stuff tomorrow.
