Safe NVIDIA driver to use with WINX Creators update?
I don't do a lot of GPU rendering, but for general working in 3DS Max and all the other software I use driver version 382.33.
It has been the most predictable and stable...some of the other drivers were pretty flaky and didn't work too well.
Note, Max 2016, 2017, and 2018 each behave differently depending on the nVidia drive I use. So your mileage may vary.
All three of my main workstations are using 382.33 and are showing the "least" amount of issues.
Windows 10 Build 15063
GPUs used in those machines: Titan XP, GTX 1080, GTX 1080Ti
i am gettin really terrible freezes either the monitors go black (both) or my screen freezes and i cant do nothing :-/
I cant believe NVIDIA and bloody MS arent doing anything about it.
I get this 4-5 times a day!!!
Really loosing my patience to get this type of problem with the type and level of harware i have.
I ran burn in tests and its not on CPU neither on memory end.

So are you problems isolated to just 3DS Max or the system in general?
Do you get the same behavior regardless of nVidia driver?
Is this a new build?
Here are some things to check:
- If it's system related, you may to check your PSU to make sure you have enough power going to the GPU. NOTE: Not know your exact config, but this can be an issue with GPUs in general.
- Check the power cables running to the GPU to make sure it's securely connected.
- Re-seat the GPU into the motherboard
- Try installed the GPU into another x16 slot (If you MB has more than one)
Worse case scenario, you have a bad GPU or a faulty MotherBoard PCI-E slot. It definitely points to having a bad GPU or something along those lines listed above.
i just ran passmark burn in test testing GPU alongside CPUs and memory - no errors whatsoever.
PSU - 1200W
CPU - dual XEON 2690v4 (56 threads)
MEM - 256 GB DDR4
TITAN X (9 series) - 6GB
1TB NVME DRIVE
PSU shoudl be fine as it woudl defo crash under such a big stress test
CPUs and MEM i completely trust Passmark here.
GPU - no errors in passmark too
I all started happening after installig the Creators update - random black screens - which either refresh back to desktop or i have to reset or screen freezes
I will try reseating the GPU tomorrow too
I also installed the driver you suggested as the one Blago suggested gave me the worst freezes
The worst case i will have to buy a new GPU -...oh well
