  • Viewport Configuration - Display Performance in Max

    Couple of things:

1.) Every time I open max the perspective viewport shading is set to realistic. Is there a way to set this to shaded every time I open the program?

2.) In the viewport configuration under Display Performance the "Maintain Frames Per Second" is set to 10.0 and the "Delay Complete Viewport Redraw" is set to 1.0 each time I open max...... Is there a way to set both of these to 0.0 every time max is opened?

If possible, cool. If not, don't need to hear any autodesk rant - thanks in advance!

Setup an empty scene with your viewport preferences. Then save the file as maxstart.max. Make sure that file is saved in the scenes folder within the "Projects" directory. (Basically the default location to save max files).

Every time you restart max or reset max, it will load this file as the default scene setup.

I also include the following within my startup file:
    - Common render settings pre-configured
    - Test material assigned to mat override
    - Default layers setup in Layer Manager
    - Base Light and Camera rigs

So I'm ready to go as soon as I open max..
