  • Who fancies Intersection Snap to be included in 3ds Max ??

I couldn't believe Intersection Snap is not available for free with such a mature piece of modelling software......

So I looked to see if there were any scripts written that I could use - yep, at ?40 for a lifetime purchase...... (?40 just to *snap* to an intersection !!!!).

So, I headed over to Autodesk's forum and suggested it as an idea.

Please could I ask for some support (Kudo's) on the said forum

It's already looking promising, with 8 kudo's points, but a ton more would certainly do no harm

    Thanks
    Jez

Got my vote, however, they might break the other snaps while doing it.

Not only that, they'll probably break other stuff too.... but hey, don't worry, it'll get sorted in 3DS Max 2025 SP2

I thought 2017 was stable, so I jumped to it from 2014 (and after a few projects was confident enough to finally uninstall 2014), but recently I have downgraded my confidence in it again - I'm constantly manually having to save every time I do really simple stuff with splines and moving around in my viewport.... I get sudden Fatal Errors.....

I tried 2018, but last time I tried I was having viewport issues, things like the sizes of vertices, thicknesses of lines, that kind of stuff and it was frustrating so I went back to 2017....... I really question how the hell such a company is *allowed* to charge for software this unreliable.....

Their revenue is on the rise, so they have no reason to change what they are doing. It's going to take a strong competitor to come along and start taking market share. However, Autodesk would probably just buy them up. Having no options suck.

they also don't have a simple feature as rotating or flipping value in like the output resolution or uv map, they will take years to add that feature

Even if VG Snap did work, I think that these basic snapping modes should be a core function of the software, not something provided by a third-party plugin.
