  • How long does it usually take you?

I have two restaurant projects that are in the proposal stage right now. One is a global fast-food chain restaurant that we are helping visualize, and the other is a large fine-dining steak house that has a few locations. I will be modeling both restaurants from scratch (just the customer accessible areas), so I'll be modeling everything from scratch (including lighting, furniture, materials, etc). I usually estimate about 5 days to model and render still images of a restaurant interior. I'm adding a few days to the steak house because it's a larger space and they will likely want views in the restrooms, and will likely have private dining room areas.

Without seeing the cad drawings, I'm curious how many hours/days, on average, you charge for similar interior-only projects (fast food restaurant, and fine-dining restaurant).

I have not worked on any restaraunt interiors but I'm not thinking it would be much different in terms of time required, for a large living, dining, kitchen space rendering of a custom home, which is what I'm more experienced with. So... FWIW....I think your time estimate is reasonable. Not too unusualy long or short. Sounds like a good gig, hope it works out well for you.
