  • Cryptomatte fusion 9

Just tried DWAB compression in the VrayOptionRE element. Wow. File size is much smaller. 26 times smaller.
This would actually make using multilayered exr. files so much more practical for us.

Fusion 9 supports DWAB compression. So far so good.

Does the cryptomatte plugin on https://github.com/Psyop/Cryptomatte work with fusion 9?
Got it working with Fusion 8 but with Fusion 9 ...no luck.

I have it working with 9. Did nothing special I think.. I don't know if it works with DWAB compression though. Maybe try an uncompressed file?

The devs of that plugin are active in this thread:
    https://www.steakunderwater.com/wesu...=1027&start=90
    They're very helpful and responsive.

26 times smaller sounds almost too good to be true gotta try that too.
German guy, sorry for my English.

Did get it to work with fusion 9
Had to create a folder inside of the fusion 9 folder called Lua and put the .lua files in there.
Doesn't work with DWAB though which is a shame

I have it working on version 8 and 9 though i did find an issues i am trying to resolve. When I used Cryptomatte in Fusion to matte out areas in several of my sequences it would be fine in the view port but the rendered out put from fusion would randomly loss the matte alpha. Solution I had was to add a save node straight from the Cryptomatte node output a matte and then load the the same matte back into Fusion for use...still a quick solution. Love it and hope to use it more. Also my Crypto node only has 1 input where as on the video I can see 3.

The newer versions don't need multiple inputs.
