to make a long story short i used to live in montreal when i did my degree in film animation at concordia university. A friend of mine who went to school with me wants to come down here to barbados for an intensive month of training with 3dsmax (and vray as well). I just wanted to know for her sake what kinda companies there are back there in montreal that she might be able to look into when she gets back.

          Well.......

Digital Dimension, Montreal division, was looking for a few people just before x-mas... if she is interested in movies / vfx (even if vray is not their main renderer) I don't know if they are still looking for people

Ubisoft seems to hire a few pepole a month, they're like over 1000 people working there, but it is game industry..

          Gameloft, about same as Ubisoft..

Discreet corporate head office, but programming more than rendering with the software

For architectural/interior design business, most of the big compagnies have their inside staff, wich leaves a lot of smaller architects without ressources.. These days around here, there is not much freelancers in the domain, (compare to a few years ago, when a few people a month was knocking on our doors beging for work at ridiculous prices..) so it is kinda of a good timing for freelancers...

On an other subject, is there work in barbados, in the sun
          kidding...

          Hope it helps...

P.S. If she is already skilled, I know an Architectural firm looking for somebody, can't say who on public forums, but gimme be a PM....

How much would I have to pay you to get a 1 month intensive max training at barbados?

This might be a lucrative business idea! Just think about it.

lol. she is an old friend so im only charging her 250USD for the lessons and nothing for staying with me hehe. actually archetectual stuff is what i make most of my money on here. i need to be able to get my modeling skills faster though. i still concider myself too slow when it comes to getting the projects finished. but i get constant work. never have to head out to get work since my clients always have projects lined up for me. i sometimes will take on tv commercial projects but those are too far inbetween to count. i wish i could do more though. right now its just me working for myself.
