  • Fall Creators Update

This week, Microsoft will begin rolling out its fourth feature update for Windows 10. Has Chaos tested it and is it okay to allow? I mean, as if we have a choice with Microsoft.

We have not tested it. We get Windows updates in the same way as everyone else - when they are officially released.

    Best regards,

That stinks, since we can't really stop them now. This one is supposed to be a biggy.

It took about 45 minutes, but I am up and running and everything seems fine.

Spoke too soon. Max crashes on save every time. Thankfully, I updated on my test machine first, so you all better pull those data cables tonight.

My V-Ray license manager got broke during the update, so I uninstalled and reinstalled and now I am saving fine.

Why Is the license manager involved in saving files?

I don't know. It took forever for MAX to load and the V-Ray toolbar sat there empty. When the toolbar loaded I tried to render and it gave me the license error. I reinstalled everything for V-Ray and it renders now and saves.

I forgot to report it but this appears to be a bug. If the V-Ray licence is unavailable then Max crashes on save and autosave.
