  • Selling Vray license + 5 nodes + Phoenix + PDPlayer

    Retail prices are:
    Vray + 5 render nodes is $2080
    Phoenix 3 is $830
    PDplayer is $350

I haven't decided yet the price I would sell everything ($3,260 retail) ...the reason is I'm moving away from Autodesk...I have more than 6 months to do my transition to another app.
if anybody is interested please PM

    Thanks,

    Fernando

I do renderings only for old clients and most of the stuff is for marketing of my own projects (I design contemporary homes)..I'm simplifying everything and I don't want to be threatened by companies....so I decided to smoothly move to other apps with less of that drama. Adobe is gone, now Autodesk is the next one.... I replaced Revit & Autocad for Sketchup and If I need anything in CAD to communicate with Engineers I'm going to use DraftSight which is EXACTLY the same like Autocad but for $79 a year or $250 for a permanent license. Regarding 3ds max is the only reason why still paying my maintenance fee to Autodesk, it's not about the money because I can pay it but I don't like that I paid over 5K for my license and now they obligated me to pay every year another wise I lose it.....they changed the rules I can't accept that, they think that loyalty to the product means I'm a slave.( I would like to do it soon but I don't have the rush too until I found that I want).

Because I'm using SketchUp for everything Design, modeling and now construction documents I'm planning to do my renderings inside of SU with Vray/Corona or maybe going Cinema 4D.....I have an office but I decided as well that I don't want to be a slave to my office chair....so I moved from workstations to Powerfull laptops and if I'm in mood to work from home or a coffee shop or taking a plane and work from Peru ('m from there) I'll do it and take my office with me...no more Render nodes and installing software and updates every year so from now on render farms if I have the rush.

I was waiting for Chaosgroup if they have plans to create universal licenses so you could use Vray in any host like many engines including Corona ...or a License that allows vray user cross between Vray and Corona for x amount of time and then decides where you want to be but I didn't hear anything regarding universal license, etc.....so my options are selling Vray to buy vray for sketchup or cinema 4D or Corona with SU and if I feel like I need Cinema with the same license I could use it in Cinema.

as I said is a process with a combination how I want to live my life and Fuc#ing policies of Autodesk .... I don't have a rush like it has to be tomorrow but somewhere in 2018 before paying my next renewal otherwise will be in 2019 if I'm alive.

Lukx, I 've seen some work of you in Corona. What are your thoughts regarding in which side of the fence you would see you now or in the future? ... I love Vray and if I decide to keep using it is going to be ok to me but now Corona is part of the family and for the type of work I'm doing I feel Corona would be a better fit to me (So, I'm debating my next steps but for sure I don't want deal with Autodesk anymore).

Autodesk are done for. Houdini, C4D and Blender are actively improving their software and giving what their customers want. Houdini is just mind blowing in regards of the things you can do inside it. Autodesk know they're in trouble, hence why they've switched to this subscription model. Unfortunately a lot of customers are now being priced out of having a subscription and are jumping ship. Fortunately for them, they are forcing a lot of the larger studios to stay with them.

Changing the rules for the people who invest in buying their products on top of that you can not resell your license (only if your partner between companies ) and pushing you to give up your license for free is the worst part of this dictator.
the options are moving or wait ...and I don't think the future would be better seeing those ridiculous improvements that look like patches more than a "new" version..... what I can see is more people passing from being a user to a pirate thru the years.

with the subscription your paying a full license every 2.5 years if you paid in full for the whole year and month by month in 20 months
