    Hi all

I know we all have the problem of client's wanting people in a scene (how dare they) but for us rpc are no longer cutting it. Especially in animations.

We have seen a few animations now with animated people which appear to be quite good. We are assuming that they are bluescreen people and although they only seem to be planes, as they are animated you seem to get away with their lighting etc not being spot on.

My question is, does anybody have experience with bluescreen people and how they work within VRay? Or does anybody know of commercially available animated people (not rpc or people'n'motion) that are a bit more recent?

    Thanks in advance

    Peter

Wev'e used green screen people in several of our animations, they work well. The main thing is to get a good green/blue screen. We bought one from www.reflecmedia.com. We just keyed them out in combustion and saved a full verision and an alpha version.

You could also have a look at Marlin Studios people n motion.

      Cheers

            Thanks guys.

We have had a look at the people'n'motion. We may go with those till we sort out something else or some space to set up a studio. It's reassuring someone recomending them.

Thanks for the link to reflecmedia e3di. Which setup did you go for? That Chromatte/Litering combination looks pretty snazzy.

                    Dave,

We got ours from the U.S. Pontiac, Michigan to be exact. Heres the info:

                    Camera Mart Inc.
                    (24 334-9944
                    industrial@cameramartinc.com

Lastolite Chromakey Blue/Green Screen 10'x24' (thought it was 13'...sorry)

                    $379.00 US

Just as a litle side note...don;t buy the supports and stands for the screen....they are junk.....you can build a better setup yourself and it won;t cost you $179.

We paid £1500 for our reflecmedia screen and green light ring....Well worth it, you can green screen virtually anywhere, no need for special lighting.

What camera's (DV or otherwise) are you using?

Does anyone have recommendations on a DV camera?

                          Thx.

                            Corey,

We have a Sony here and its crap. I have such a hard time doing camera tracking with the footage as well as keying out the green and blue. Russ Andersson (the guy who made Syntheyes software) told me that if you are going to use a DV camera you need to find one that has a progressive scan mode for better picture quality....oh and use lots of light.

I'm still looking around for one so i can't really make any recommendations on which to buy.

Haven't had a chance to use one yet but if I had my choice it would be the new Sony HDDV cam. There is also the Panasonic (Or was it JVC?) HDDV but I hear the image quality is not as good as the Sony. Cannon is also working on one from what I hear. When tracking, nothing beats resolution in my experience. The difference between tracking DigiBeta and Full HD is night and day.

here is the sony http://dv411.com/sonyhdrfx1.html drools... :P
