What the heck! Simply arches have turned into a jagged mess. I spend the last 4 hours on this, so I hope that there is a quick fix.

I see the weird squiggly line but what's happening to make this happen? Is it an import from autocad? Try a legacy DWG import.www.dpict3d.com - "That's a very nice rendering, Dave. I think you've improved a great deal." - HAL9000... At least I have one fan.

The first one is when I don't select the line and the second one is when I select it. More segments make a chopper mess. Yes, it is an AutoCAD import.Bobby Parker

I have seen this before.. Try the following :
1-move it to 0.0
2-reset Xform
3-convert to editable spline
Of course make sure the units are setup correctly first-------------------------------------------------------------
Simply, I love to put pixels together! Sounds easy right : ))

I ended up requesting the CAD file be printed as a PDF and I drew it all from scratch, so I have total control.

Quite a common issue. Resolves by moving drawing in CAD to coordinate origins (0,0,0) and re-importing to MAX.Available for remote work.

You must have been lucky for not encountering this error before Bobby !
This has to do with the scene boundary being too large after the import. As mentioned in previous posts it is either because of wrong units or because the original drawing is very far from the origin.
Also it doesn't hurt to vote for this suggestion : https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/3ds-m.../idi-p/6788410
