  • Archiving assets into a single folder

Anyone familiar with this script, or something similar? I want to be able to archive a scene, but have all of the materials neatly contained in a single folder within the zip file.

    Doesn't MAX's default do that?

In Max utilities there is a resource collector. It will let you copy/move assets and update the path in the scene. Then save as > archive

I didn't know about the resource collector. Thanks for that. The script that I found (above) collects the files into a "maps" folder and then relinks to that. Pretty slick. But my client insists that it be called "assets"

resource collector is shit and can crash on big scenes. pixamoons asset tracking does it.

We find it pretty much essential.
