urgent! free/cheap autocad compatible software

ive got a pile of cad files that i need to clean up and move to the origin before importing to max. they are so far from 0,0,0 that they get completely corrupted on import.

thats literally the only functionality i ever use, so paying for autocad seems rather ridiculous.


is there a free/cheap cad tool which can read recent dwg files and do basic operations like this?

ok so in my particular case (cant speak for all dwg's) the free version of draftsight opened my files flawlessly and uses the same commands as autocad, so moving the drawing tool about 5 seconds.
