  • Need some help getting a parcel delivered

This may sound like an odd request. but here goes.

But I need someone in America who is willing to accept a parcel for me and then post it on to me in Australia.

The parcel is a DVD of "Iron Chef" and the only place i can order it from is foodnetwork.com, and they dont ship outside of the states. Which is pretty strange in this day and age. Ahh well.

Anyway i was hoping someone from this forum would be kind enough to be a "middle man" as such and let me post the DVD to their address then they post it to me in Australia. I would of course pay for all shipping costs. So all you would need to do is pop down to a local post office and send it my way.

I can think of a few likely candidates but i though i would just ask the forum in general and see who is kind enough to offer.

    Thanks in advance

Also, I would be willing to offer a token ($) of my appreciation for whoever helps me out.

        HAHAHAHAH Thanks natty.

Yeah i really feel like shafting someone out of 15mins of there time...hahahah

Let me just make things clear, i will deposit any postage costs in said persons account before they even think about going to the post office. And the parcel will be paid for by me before its even shipped from foodnetwork anyway. There is no financial risks to the "middle man" whatso ever. But i think thats pretty clear in my first post.

You could try a forwarding service. A friend of mine uses something called JetCarrier that forwards packages to his Norwegian address from the US address given to him by the company. They only service Scandinavia though. A bit of googling should be able to locate one that does the same for australia.
          For example: http://www.whatsinteresting.com/postbox.htm

          BTW: Iron Chef rocks

If send it to me then ill forward it on. It sounds pretty dodgey but as long as it's "Iron Chef" and not "Mary Jane's Workout Video" then I suspect nothing is amiss...

Did you guys see that special they had a few years back when they were trying to get Iron Chef America going? William Shatner played the part of the grand master or whomever that guy in the opening is and all of the people who do the voice overs for ICJ were the actual commentators.

Pretty funny seeing Shatner being himself and opening the ceremony. I love that guy I haven't seen the latest version of it, maybe it's the same.

                  heheh THanks Guys,

Mmmm those forwarding services look like more trouble than its worth just for one small package, seeing as its a once off i might just go with either jujubee or percy....mmm which one to choose hahaha anyone got a coin

And yes juju it is definitly Iron Chef...hahhaha

Yeah the American Iron Chef is not as good as the Japenese one, but I am slowly collecting the Japanese ones. And thought i may as well grab some of the american ones on DVD. THe DVD i will be getting is apparently the better of the American Iron Chef DVD's.

                  Trapezium:
I believe you can get that DVD with shatner in it somewhere on the net, i happened to come across it in my searches for the American Grand Masters DVD. I couldnt believe my eyes at first. Just sounds ridiculous.

Ah yes Iron Chef definitly rocks!!! I also ordered the Japanese Iron Chef book off Amazon

Ok, back to business now, so Jujubee since you were the first to offer, would you like to be my "middle man"?

Keep in mind that unless Australia is Region 1, it may not work for you.
