I didn't know that anyone used the point-cloud mode of the proxy... in fact we were thinking of removing it altogether. In my tests it never worked well and it's always been a little experimental. Are there actual production scenarios where you use it?

    Best regards,
    Vlado

Hi, vlado, thanks for the reply

Yes, I do use proxy point cloud for (very)Distant object, since I read about it in the Docs that they save memory, and saving memory usage is always a big thing to me
I use it for trees, rocks for enviro shot or even stuff like cars work well if it's Far enough from camera. plus it kinda works like a "One Click Level-of-Detail" feature, save me the trouble of making the LODs my self.

      thanks

I can't seem to get the VRay Proxy point cloud mode to work at all, it only shows a single dot, not the mesh as points. I thought it would work more like forest pack, where the proxy point count can be controlled? Am I missing something? Is there a specific way to create the "object cloud" I am unaware of? I would definitely use it for sure if it works. Tons of trucks and trees.
