  • Workstation setup

    Hi,

I'm planning to build a workstation for rendering with vray + sketchup. I'm also gonna use Autocad and Adobe Creative suite a lot - but the priority is to get maxium cpu render speed. I'll also use vray RT frequently for setting up scenes.
It would be great to have some opinions on my planned setup:

    - AMD Ryzen threadripper 1950x 3,4 GHz (16 cores)
    - PNY Quadro P4000 4xDP 8GB
    - Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 PC25600/3200MHz CL16 2X8GB
    - 500GB SSD
    - Seagate Ironwolf ST4000VN008 64MB 4TB
    - Azus prime Z370-P motherboard
    - Corsair RM750X 750W

I'm considering an upgrade to 32GB ram, it's quite pricey though. Do you guys think that I've chosen the right GPU? Any other comments?

    Thanks

Hello, although I cannot advise on any particular hardware model, be sure to compare test results from https://www.chaosgroup.com/vray/benchmark
Additionally, you might want to take a look at https://forums.chaosgroup.com/forum/...s-max-hardware

    Kind regards,
