  • HELP project due soon and I need some help PLEASE.

Hi everyone i would really apreciate some help, I have a project due on monday and I need to render out about 2 minutes of a scene I have. First Off i would like to know if its possible with V-ray FREE if I can save the irradance maps so it doesnt have to recalculate for each frame. If i can will it work with a moving camera? or does it only save what is in the frame? Also if its possible please give me a quick explanation how, nothing detailed needed.

Secondly how can I speed up my render time overall once again using Vray free, everything in the scene that uses reflect or refract is already using v ray maps not raytrace, I have GI on indirect and Caustic GI. Here are my settings, everything shown is what has been changed from default, anything in the menus that isnt shown is left default including the other tabs like raytracing.

Lastly is it possible to use 2 computers to render out the scene if the 2 computers are on a lan, like a batch render or something of the sort, does v ray free support that? if so then a quick explanation on how would be greatly apreciated also, just something quick and simple.

Thanks anyone who can help I would really apreciate it. Thanks!!!

you cant save irradiance maps with vray free... AFAIK, you cant do it with the basic version of vray either...

This case I think the best way to render out with no problem is simply set the other computer to render every second frame... When all finsihed u can use virtualdubmod (free) to make a video out of the bitmap sequence.

It is very much depend what u are going to render out, but reflective and refractive caustics are quite heavy on rendertimes.
If u can, try to forget about.

Ther is an other way, i developed for myslef, a "vrayfreemap"
But I guess u dont have too much time to play with lights, and then compositing. But any way, if u put a filllight with very low multipler 0.05-0.1 that can even make a boost on caculating irradiance map.
        Adjust light set up accordingly.

        Good luck.

              got $799?

There is not much you can do to get more speed out of free, maybe hire a render farm?
