Hi guys loving the Phoenix FD trial, its looking great and easy ish to use.

We need some advice on trying to obtain the effect of a powder blast very much like in this example.

Can anyone give a few tips on what settings would most likely get this result and what would be the best setup?

    Thanks for your help

    Hey,

You might want to get in touch with this guy https://vimeo.com/142629429

Otherwise, looks like a particle system, selected in a Phoenix source and using animated discharge, like in this setup: https://docs.chaosgroup.com/display/...s-RGBExplosion, combined with RGB channel simulation like this: https://docs.chaosgroup.com/display/...+RGB+Workflows

    Hope this helps!

Thats a great help and a good starting point really appreciate your pointers. We need to get a granular particle and less smoke. I assume this technique transfers over to Maya setup.

      Cheers

Ah, yes - you can use nParticles as emitters in the Phoenix Source, and you can adjust and animate the smoke amount and emission strength.
