  • Water out of container

    Hello,Guys~
I have a problem here. My water through out the cup like the picture I post. And this is my setting value. Does it have anyway to solve this problem ? Thank you for your kindly answer~

    Hey,

Make sure your cup is shelled and the walls are thick enough. If it's moving fast, then increase the Steps per Frame more, so the liquid would be able to catch up.

    Cheers!

Thank you Svetlin.Nikolov~ It work. I increase the steps per Frame, and made the cup a little slower.

And I have another problem. The water on the cup's walls is not smooth. How to do can make it more smooth like the water in the real world. Thank you~

Hey, you can set the cup.geometry as a render cutter geometry and use inverse the cutter, so the liquid intersecting the glass will be cut. This would look better if you switch to isosurface render mode from mesh mode, will be slower, but will look smooth.in rendering.

I understand what you said. But I don't know how to use render cutter geometry this thing in 3ds max. Could show some button or interface ?
            Thank you very much~

Just pick the glass, check inverse cutter, change render mode to isosurface and render

I succeeded in using cutter geometry. It's much better now. Thanks, Svetlin.Nikolov. It is a fantastic way to solve this problem.

I have another question. Is it possiblely make the water fill helf of the cup at the start. Now I use emitter to inject water into the cup but it took time.
                Thank you very much~

I tried this tutorial. It's really quickly to fill up the cup.
But I have some problem here. Maybe my value is not setting right.
The water's surface is not very stable.
Actually it looks like a shaking jelly.
I put the video link below. Could you give me some suggestion?
                    Thank you very much.

Hey, try increasing the steps per frame - if your scene scale is low, the gravity will be pulling the liquid down strongly and if the steps per frame are not enough, it would be a tug of war between the gravity and the fluid trying not to compress.

Thank you Svetlin.Nikolov. It is true. I increased the scene scale and the water is more stable.

Is it possible make the water be stationary state before the cup falling.
I try to copy one of cache sequence file and rename them. But it take time.

If I want 0 to 100 frame to be stationary state I have to copy 100 files and
                        rename them such as Liquid_0000, Liquid_0001, Liquid_0002....
I think it is a little stupid. Maybe there is a better way.
I really thank you your patient to reply my questions.

Hey, sure - you can use either Restore or Load&Start for this. Search the docs for more info
