  • rendered backplate becomes blurry

    Hello,

I want to use a 360 panoramic image as my background.

I've made an emissive material with the image for color.

The material was then assigned to a cilinder (without caps) surrounding the scene.

In my viewport the image has good resolution, however , when I render, the image becomes blurry.

Any idea what can be the cause?

I've included a screen capture (partial) to demonstrate the difference between the render (left side) and the viewport.

Strange, looks like a motion blur effect. Are you using GPU rendering? Maybe the texture mode is in down sampling mode.

yes, it was rendered with GPU. CPU gives normal outcome. Nevertheless strange that CPU messes with the image. Anyhow, that's solved. Thanks!

Could you please provide screenshots of the render settings for the GPU Textures parameter (Settings > Render Parameters) and the set up of the Bitmap texture?

          Hello Georgi,
          .
When you ask about the set up of the bitmap texture, do you mean the general image properties? (In PS, it's identified as an 8 bits jpeg image, not a .bmp). In windows file properties, its says 24 bit depth (see image capture below)

the bitmap in the material slot (emissive material FYI!) has standard settings, if that's what you're after.

            color space = screen space.

Your large background image is downscaled to only 512 pixels. Try resize type "on-demand...".
