  • How to get rid of Moiré Effect ?!?!

I cant seem to get this scene to render correctly. Every time I try it renders with a Moiré Effect.
    All help would be appreciated.

Best you post a screenshot of your sampling parameters like at this screenshot here. Which version of VfR do you use?

      Thanks for youre response.

        Hello ac643

The Moiré Effect you are experiencing is most likely produced by the Anti-Aliasing Filter and while in some scenarios it might be impossible to entirely remove it, I would like to recommend that you try using a different filtering option. For example, instead of Lanczos, you can try the Box option (as well as all others to see which works best in your case). You can access them from V-Ray Asset Editor > Settings tab, Render Parameters > Antialiasing Filter. For additional information on the topic, please visit the following page from our official documentation: https://docs.chaosgroup.com/display/...ndMoireEffects

Let me know if changing the filtering option produced a better result.

This page too has samples on how moire' gets resolved with different filtering methods and sizes.
I'm not sure all filters are available in Rhino, though you should be able to figure out how to get out of your predicament regardless.

I looked at your uploaded scene and it was running in interactive mode. So, if I understand right, your example rendering shows the scene in a very early state of the interactive rendering or? What happen if you wait some time or better disable interactive rendering?

              Keen eye, Micha, good find.
Not only that, it's being downsampled by the cheap VFB filter (likely bilinear) to fit the view (notice the resolution and scaling factor at the top).
Looking at it 1:1 and ensuring it samples to convergence (for the given noise threshold) will likely eliminate moire' from that kind of detail, even with the Lanczos filter.
