so i was very surprised to see a similar design from

its actually not simular. his has a single pole with the steps radiating out from it. where as geoff's is like DNA which is a double helix. way more complex since its lack of central support like this other ones center pole.

i think he was definitevly inspired by ross lovegroves dna stairs!

Whatever the inspiration the concept and especially the end result are simply astonishing. Very nice crisp renderings. Calling them photographs would actually degrade them almost...hehe...
