  • PROBLEM with CHAOS CLOUD - Not rendering Bump made with Gradient Ramp

Hi. I recently sent many images for a project and when I downloaded final renderings (and actually while they were being rendered directly from the interface) I noticed that the Bumps I made with procedural GRADIENT RAMP (3ds Max) wasn't rendered. It was completely ignored by the Vray Cloud.
I had to render again the regions in my PC after importing the vrimg to the VFB.

This also takes me to the question: Will Chaos Group give me my money back? Because I paid for a service that failed.

You'll find attached some crops to show you the difference after I downloaded the vrimg (from the chaoscloud) and imported to my VFB and then rendered with EXACTLY THE SAME SETTINGS SENT TO THE CLOUD

    Software used:
    3ds Max 2017
    Vray 4.2
    Windows 7

I hope you can give me an answer.

    Thanks.

    Mario Cameras

Sorry for the inconvenience this might have caused you. It seems the issue is related to the use of Gradient Ramps as bump and it is already logged in our system (Bug-tracker id: VMAX-6891), I will raise its priority additionally. For the future, as a workaround, you can use the 'Render map' option (right-click on the texture node>Render map...) in the material editor and use the rendered bitmap instead. Since it is a bug on our side, you are eligible for a refund, so please send us the ids (you can see it in the URL) of the affected jobs, so we can resolve the matter.

Hi again Aleksandar. I've just seen your answer because I recently rendered again that scene for client's changes and the gradient ramp still failed. I think you haven't solved the issue yet. Today Angel Atanasov contacted me to ask me for some feedback about the cloud, so I'll keep speaking with him about the refunds.
Thank you so much for your time and help.

        Keep Healthy!
