Hey, I don't know who the admin is here, so I caouldn't PM him this directly so I shall say it now.

Why do you not allow certain people to post in different catogories? I mean for example the Take 5 catogry, that should be for everyone to just chat about anything. Yet when I go there it says I can't post, I cant do anything there. Why make it like this? you make a catogry for people to post about anything, and yet people aren't allowed to post in it apart from 'special' people.

I would think is very confusing for people who have no idea where to post something. Please make it so everyone can post in the Take 5 catogry.

    Thanks,

The only thing "special" is that everyone in the world can post to the public forum, but the others are reserved for users who purchased vray.

Yeh, but the public forum seems to be all about Vray, we have no where to talk about ANYTHING. We should ALL be able to post in the off topic section.

There are million forums around the web many of which have take 5 sections... why not post there? Try cgtalk for example...

Erm, this forum was cheated by Chaos or it's customers and users of it's software. Your arguments are really bleak. Thereare milloons of other forums where u can talk about anything u want to. It desn't even have to be a CG forum. So I don't really see your point except that your blowing off some steam asking right out dumb questions...

It's not a dumb question, we register and yet only the people who pay for Vray can post where ever they like, yet people who dont have about 2 catogries to post in. Shall I just post random stuff everywhere then because I have no idea where to put anythnig because im not allowed to, what a crap system.

So, me as a Vray user isn't allowed to:

Talk about Vray in general, whilst this is a suport forum. Good that

I can't tell them any bugs I have. Yet it's a support forum. Good that

I can't tell them what i'd like to see in up coming versions. Good that

I can't post my own tutorials or ask for some. Yet it's a support forum. Good that

Can't post any ideas on rendering. Smashing

OH LOOK, A FORUM I CAN POST IN, VRAY FREE WOW

The Public forum left only one door open for the whiney people that used hacked software demanding support of their stolen software. As you can see, it worked very well. Not to say that you are using hacked software. But if you are using VrayFree, you are going to get about as much support for it as you paid for.

If you DID purchase Vray, you can send and email to them asking to be a full access to the forum...

If you are still all pissy about it, there are plenty of people that discuss Vray on cgtalk which is open to everyone.

The take-5 section here if the PEOPLE THAT PURCASED VRAY to talk about whatever they want.

what he said. If you didn't purchase vray, your getting just the access necessary. If you did purchase it, then email chaos and youll get access straightaway.

                      Sheesh. Ditto that.

In addition - if you want to be "involved" - buy the program. Notice the amount of numbers missing between 1.09 and 1.46. Those were all releases that contained new features and fixes that were brought to light by paying users. Free software is intended for evaluation and to generate interest. It is not intended to be your be-all, end-all rendering solution.

If you use it, you should buy it. It's a great program! I'll bet most of your ideas and bugs are probably already implemented - and then some!

Besides, your best bet for an answer to your issues with vray free is probably in this very forum, since it is so different from the current version of vray.

                      ---

Also, it's interesting that you DL'd vray a whole week ago, and your first post was a rant on how crappy VRay is compared to Brazil. You got a ton of help there, IMO! And.... it turned out the very help you complained about actually WAS spot on! It was *your* system with the gremlins, not this crappy renderer. Then your second thread is to complain about the lack of forums to get help and such!

Me thinks that a person looking for help with a product would come and ask nicely rather than act all holier than though. I'm sure there are plenty of Brazil users who would be happy to moan about vray.

Why don't you google for some basic vray tuts (there are a ton of them) and try it out. If you actually run into a question, ask here and I'm sure you will get some assistance, just as you did last time (also your first time, which should be an indication.)

Oh - and just for your reference - the people who responded to both of your threads are not vray free users. They are paying customers (and some very good ones, btw) who took the time to answer you, just because you asked.

The install of Vray free WAS CRAP. No installtion instrctinos at all, even when I did find them apparantly I didn't have all the files, it should also say in there 'does not work with other plugins installed, please remove all over plugins first' that would of been alot easier, also brazil isn't a Gremlin .

Why do I need Vray tuts, I wasn't asking for Vray tuts, I was asking why we acn't post in the help sections.....

So I don't pay for Vray, doesn't mean just because THEY made a free version and I download it I am not intitled to help, I shoul;d have all the help the paying users do. I think that's a stupid system that we cant have as much help as others.

Forget it, I think i'll switch back to brazil. Oh look, I can get HELP when I use BRAZIL FREE.

you can get help by searching the forum for people who have had similar problems in the past.

Thats all the rest of us do here.

You obviously have a lot to learn, but be patient and you will get there.

The support on here is pretty good even if you post in this free section, so if you have any questions...just post away. Hopefully you will make a decision and fork out the $. I had the same problem with figuring out the free version but took the Risk and am now very happy with things. No doubt this will be something that will be improved when the official version of vray 1.5 i released (a better free/demo version).

Bottom line is that if you need help, ask...otherwise these kinds of posts arnt going to get you anywhere ON ANY FORUM...including with brazil

If I had the money, I would buy Vray but I don't have the money so I am using free untill I do. Your the one's who started flaming me, I started off making a sensible question asking why we aren't then you lot started hacnig a go at me. Leave it as that, get a mod to lock this topic.

I dont know if you were around when the forum was public, but there was a lot of people asking for help whos problems were a result of having a hacked copy of vray. This is why its closed now, so that people who have paid get BETTER service than those who have stolen.

Unfortunate though that you have the free version, but are missing out a bit because of what these theives have caused. Blame them for you not having access to the other parts of the forum. Hope that helps you understand peoples reaction a bit.

Anyway, if you need help then ask. When you can afford vray, theres a really good help and tute page as well as access to all of the latest Beta builds as improvements are made. the current build is awesome IMO and very close to being a rock solid final version....most of us use it for production work already as there are much more features than shown in the free version and a lot of speed tweaking options.

Frustrating as it may be at the moment, stick with things... maybee wait for the next discouted release if you are short of money (we got our version at 30% off). Most people pay off the cost of the licence in the first 1-2 jobs though...
