  • Chaos Cloud Servers Location?

My offices firewall seems to be blocking access to the Chaos Cloud website as they block many certain countries. Bulgaria is on the safe list but that's not working any longer. Did the location move? If so, where should we safelist?

    Hi Matthew,

Sorry for the slow reply. No, the location of our hosting servers hasn't change. But it's not Bulgaria, it's USA as we use GCP as our main hosting provider and one of its regions there. Can you please check with the admins of your local network what might prevent you from reaching Chaos Cloud? We don't use any particular port - every time it's a random one and we communicate via HTTPS if this matters.

    Best regards,
    Vladi

Our firewall wasn't allowing me to log into the web interface for VRay Cloud. My IT person said that the server was located in China, which is a country we have blacklisted. Once he temporarily whitelisted China, I could log in. They are not comfortable with leaving that open, so it has been closed again, but we are all working remotely at the moment, so it isn't an issue for me since I don't have those restrictions at home.

No part of Chaos Cloud is in China; not sure why your IT person would think that - it would be useful if you can get us more details.

        Best regards,

I only act like I know everything, Rogers.

Here is what he has said, "...our firewall has a feature that allows us to block traffic to countries based on IP address, and we could not access that page until I told the firewall to stop blocking China. It’s entirely possible that our firewall is wrong about where some IP addresses are based, but that’s what I had to do to make the page accessible."
