Vray Lens effects - can't get them working

Hey.
I've been trying for about a year now to get lens effects to work on my images.
It seems to be very hit and miss if it decides to turn on or not. 90% of the time absolutely nothing happens
We're using max 2020 and Vray 3.1 (4.30.01 Build 00001)

EDIT: I should clarify, this is with a simple HDRI setup, no matter how much I play with the settings I can't get anything to show up.

It's hard to get them visible without strong light direct light sources / strong highlights. I assume it would have show up if you really boost the highlight on that metal slider. You can quickly boost it by increasing "affect specular" value inside your HDRI options, or even create additional support lights which affects ONLY the metal objects and also have their specular contribution multiplied. Other then that I almost always find myself lowering the Treshold value a little bit which makes them,stronger. But in this particular scene it would be very hard to get them, and they wouldn't serve much purpose in my opinion. Good luck!

I changed the threshold to a super low value and now it works. Thanks a lot Karol
