  • Vray Cloud - saving a multi channel EXR?

Couldn't find anything when searching and since Vray Cloud doesn't have its own topic, I'll ask here. How do I save down a multichannel EXR as a single file when rendering in Vray Cloud?

Try the raw file output of V-Ray's render settings (under VFB).
Just type the file name with an EXR extension.

Do you mean from Vray Cloud? The only option I have is to download it all as a package, and the main .exr is just the beauty pass. I don't have the same options as in the VFB.

I mean that before exporting the vrscene, you should try and set up the file saving through the render settings inside Max (using the raw file output.).
I'm utterly unsure if it works, it's a suggestion (as it'd make the most sense. we can't really touch the max file savers.).

I just can't get this to work. I'm setting it up as I believe you suggest, with the Render Output in the Common tab. I can then check that it should use the render elements already set up, but when I download the zip file from Vray Cloud it all comes as separate channels.

Follow up question, how do I add the Cryptomatte channel in Photoshop?

Not in the common tab, nope.

I have no idea about Cryptomatte in PS.
Perhaps there is a plugin which makes sense of the incoming data?
