  • manual, tutorials, for vray demo

I downloaded the vray demo. Where can I get the manual and tutorials so I can test it?

  • #2
Is there a manual? This is pretty useless without any training materials. Can someone please lend a hand? I only have until June 1st to test this.

The updated manual is only for registered users, this one is a little out of date but was released publicly. Most everything is covered in it.

Thanks for your help. I'll do the best I can with this. Why don't they release the manual? It's a complicated plugin to test without one.

That's not a good point. I won't buy it if I can figure out how to get the most out of it first. Most applications that have demos come with a complete manual (3dsmax, XSI, modo, final render, etc). If you're not going to have a manual, you may as well not have a demo. So basically they're costing themselves multiple advanced sales by not having a demo. If they can afford to do that then that's fine.

              not really...

Of course they want you to buy it but the also gave the opportunity to test first.

The manual is in development as features are finalized.

The one that Rerender linked to should get you started in the right direction then a few searches on this forum will advance your knowledge in specific areas that you may want to test.

Yes I'm using that and the tutorials as well. I just thought x-site's post was ridiculous. We are purchasing multiple seats of an advanced renderer (vray, final render, or brazil ) before August so I need as much info as possible to make the correct decision.

Really? Last time I checked, Prman did not have a "demo" version. If you wanted to try it, you had to pay the $5,000 just like anyone else. But I may be wrong.

this forum is better then any manual you could have.

I didn't mention prman did I? I said final render or brazil which both have demos and are the main competitors for vray. Thanks for your concern.

+++ thou shall not use my name in vain +++

Sorry people by i don't see the point of this.
If you want a manual then go to:
                        http://www.spot3d.com/vray/help/VRay...ta/plugins.htm

There you will find useful info.
Regarding tuts and help... then the forum provides a limited but very useful service.
I am with those that want to see a moree compreensive manual [even for the demo version] but i also understand that maybe VRay people have other stuff in there minds.
I mean, look at Next Limit and M~R, they don't even have a trial/demo version... ::
