  • Excessive Rendering Times for Boat Simulation

    Hi!

I just started learning 3ds Max/ Vray and followed the Phoenix FD ship tutorial (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jh_X...l=ChaosGroupTV) to simulate an animation for one of my own designs.
Everything went well until I started to render...
My animation has 200 frames with a single frame taking over 1.5 hrs to render. I tried cranking down the diffuse modifiers for both the foam and the splashes, changed the mode from bubbles to points, turned off the image filter. Is there anything else I could try?
From the tutorial I watched the render seemed to be super quick (1-2 min)
Is there anything really important I might have missed that causes these crazy render times? I have attached my settings for the liquid and render preferences below

ps: I always get this message when rendering (see image)

You're rendering in progressive mode, 1,100. try bucket 1,12. same noise threshold. I suspect that video was recorded with even lower AA.

      Thank you for your reply!
I tried rendering in bucked before, but it didn't help much. Is there any values I have to change in the render settings when selecting bucket to improve the render times? What do you mean by 1,12 ?
