Hello, I've read about OSL material support in Vray documentation (also about its limitations). My question is:
There are many interesting maps since 3ds2021 introduced extended OSL support (like multi tile, random tile bitmap, etc) - is most of them safe to use in production point of view?
I am mostly interested in those:
- Dirt / Curvature / AO map solutions
- Falloff solutions
- Color Correction solutions
By "safe" I mean that no artifact, black or blank materials when mixing with other vray materials (like VrayBitmap as sub OSL map). I mean is OSL and vray toghether glitchy with current implementation?
Also, there are more complex OSL shaders, like one which can emulate a "deep room" effect on flat building wall - there is a correct paralax with camera movement giving impression of 3d room inside building. Is this possible to do with vray OSL implementation?
Best,
nl
