  • Any way to keep the Maya Render View popping up and hiding when you update Frame Buffer IPR?

I realize this is something that has been happening for a long time with Vray for Maya. But is there anyway to just prevent the Maya Render view from ever popping up at all when rendering with the Vray Frame Buffer? It seems kind of ridiculous that the current solution is to just delete the UI after it pops app instead of preventing it from popping up in the first place. When rendering with IPR in the viewport. This doesn't happen. There must be a way to keep this from happening when using the frame buffer?
I also find it really annoying that the frame buffer automatically sizes based on the frame size being rendered. I understand why this might be the default. But I would love an option to prevent the frame buffer from auto resizing. Sometimes you just want a render view that is a specific size and place and might be changing resolutions often for different reasons.

    Hi,

The frame buffer has an option for this, it's in the VFB settings > Render View > Resize on resolution change. If you tick it OFF, the VFB will keep its size no matter how the resolution of the image changes.

As for Maya's render view - we tried numerous approaches in the past and that's the only one that we found to work without breaking something else. Maybe we can look into this again in the future, but I don't think we have a quick and easy solution. For viewport IPR the code just goes through a slightly different path for drawing the pixels and that's why Maya's window never shows up.

    I hope this helps.

Awesome thanks for letting me know about that option. And yeah would be a nice QOL thing to keep it from popping up.
