Is this really an official forum? Has permission been given by Chaos Group to use the Vray Logo?

I dont see anywhere claiming that the Italian forum is the official, the thing where written "official" points here, to the official forum

Dont misunderstood, but I very much doubt that everyone on earth who displays the respected chaosgrop's logo asked for permission...
But thats an other story. I think the problem is the name of the domain.
That might make people think that it is official, and that is maybe undesirable.

there is a link here to the official forum., however its an image link saying ufficial forum vray. which looks like its saying that website is the official one.

I wait for an answer from the vray chaosgroup.

if theirs don't want me I will remove the logo and accordingly I won't open the forum.

I'm pretty sure they would be fine with you opening an Italian-language forums, just like discreet doesn't care if you open up 3DSMax forums. But when you adopt the same color scheme as the "official" site, and use the logos of the "official" site, you run into trademark and branding issues, as well as confusion as to who has the rights to use it.

You are legally required to go after people who use your trademark without your permission, or else you lose the rights to that trademark.


To summarize:

1) An Italian forum based around Vray is probably a good thing.
2) It should have its own look and feel that is not similar to the official vray pages
3) It should use its own logo to maintain its own identity
4) Vrayrender.it is a confusing (but not necessarily illegal) domain name

The biggest Italian CG Portal is www.treddi.com ! 3 years of activity and 9000 user!!! . A lot of free tutorial, many on VRay, free material for Vray, free models, partnership with evermotion, great friends group and much more...
