  • Any way to render ONLY a diffuse colour pass in vray?

I'm a fully registed owner of the full version of vray and have been for some time now, but for some reason can't post in the forums above, only this one for the free version? Ah well

Anyway, I would like to know if I can render out just a diffuse pass using the g-buffers? I don't need the specular, GI, shadows or anything else, just a diffuse pass. I figure it should be able to render a pass like this pretty quickly because it's not having to calculate lighting or shading or anything else.

Anyone able to let me know how to do this, or if it's even possible?

Thanks a lot, hope someone can help.

you should talk to Tischo about getting permission to post in the other forums.
Anyway, I'm not completelly sure, but I'd imagine that the difuse pass would look different depending if you have GI on or off. If you render using the VRay framebuffer, you can display the different g-buffer channels in it, but you need first specify that you want them to be rendered and you can do that by going to the VRFB section in the render dialog.

    Cheers
