  • Problem with lights

Hi, I am testing VRay and have the demo version 1.47.04 on max 7 sp1,
I have a scene with many IES lights.
The lights are close to wall in order to get the nicely lit brighter areas to walls.

The problem I have is that the brighter areas are just cut in the top or middle causing some part that should be lit to be completely dark. Every time I render again the place where the cutting happens changes in a totally random fashion.

How to fix this or is it a bug?

Can't believe this. Changing shadow map type from raytrace to vrayshadows fixed the problem.

      vray doesn't support raytrace shadows.

maybe you should rephrase.... Vray does not support the MAX raytrace shadows. It uses its own raytraced shadows which are Vray shadows.

but whats the point since vray shadow works just as well if not better. something is fishy here though. as far as i know there is no 1.47.04 build
